For whatever its worth--I have spin-on racors on my B31, and I get "brown mud" that I'm guessing is rust or other crud in my filters. Some of it get by the racors, but is picked up by in-line filters I have just before the carbs. They're aluminum billet filters from summit--the boat came with Wix metal in-lines (don't use plastic). Long story short--I meant to take off the in-lines and just go with the racors, but the in-lines do pick-up crud that the racors miss--so they're staying. Be real careful around gas--I don't know of anything more dangerous than an empty gas tank full of fumes.
