Guy, I don't know if your talking about the strainer screens on the pick-ups of some tanks or some kind of pre-filter going in? I don't think you should have either, just a good spin on fuel filter before the engines is all you should have,the screen just clog at the least convient time and aren't easy to get to for cleaning. By the way, I hope your not using an electric shop-vac to vacuum out the tank, or you and the boat may be on your way out, an empty gas tank is much more dangerous than a full one.
