Lucky you Jerry,
Though it's not my marina, mine doesn't have fuel. I was going to meet up with some of the other Chesapeake guys Friday night at a marina. So on Thursday I called for a slip, its an hour+ run for me and the kids wanted to swim.

I ask about gas and dockmaster says he's holding at $2.99 because he didn't have to take any. Well we pull in late (that's another story) & I didn't bother to fuel Friday night. I settle up with the dockmaster on Sat morning for the slip and ask about fuel, the price had jumped to $3.56 above the $2.99 he said it was going to be Thursday. He tried saying he's just being competitive with the other marinas, but only has 800 gal left??? sure doesn't sound like he had taken a load of fuel or had any different cost basis than Thursday when it was $2.99. I was willing to fuel up anyway cause the price was still cheaper than those that had to take a delivery at the prices last week & then when I get the boat over to the fuel docks I'm told they weren't suppose to sell to non-slip holders but he would allow me 100gal... I took 50gal just to have some extra for the trip home & hope the choke on the rest.

Now I understand supply and demand, but come on, this marina is doing nothing more than profit taking based on a natural disaster. I'll bet they'll be one of the loudest to complain that higher fuel costs ruin their business!!
