Well put,Stan. Your post is an effort to expose the TRUTH about what's happening to our society and in New Orleans now. Reality is hard to grasp for some people who's idea of a "catastrophy" is losing their central air conditioning system. Frivilous. It's just way over the heads of some, or many, really, that have no concept of true reality.
Basic human nature is being ignored by people who are lucky enough to be able to turn their heads, go back and remain in their world with no threats, no real problems.
Basic human nature , to me, is protecting "your own", weather it's property or family.
If you have no "your own" there is nothing to lose, nothing to protect. No respect for yourself, no respect for other people, their property or their lives. And you live for the moment, only. Everything is cheap.
For instance: Those of us that have kids know that a kid treats a car with more respect if they pay the bills rather than a parent paying the bills for the car. Just an example.
As we all know, our society tends to enable people to blame "their" problems on someone else. It's not "my" fault things are as they are.
Makes me worry.
