Sure, everyone involved could have done a better job but years of dodging the "big one" has made most complacent. New Orleans survived the hurricaine without much damage. The huge bar and resaurants built over the lake right outside of the 17th st. canal were destroyed and washed up the canal and eventually took out part of the flood wall. Along with a couple of other similar incidents is what created the flooding which is the major problem.

The same locals that are jumping up and down, uda oddaing, pointing their fingers at everyone are the same people that's existance is largely based on living off of the government. THEY WERE TOLD IT WAS A MANDITORY EVACUATION and they didn't leave. Some could'nt and that's sad. But I can guarantee the loudest 45yr old bling bling ury up all up in front of the camera biatching local somehow manages to get her eleven kids and thirty-five grandkids to a Saints game in Atlanta well before kickoff.

The unfortunate circumstances has brought out the true color of the steamy underbelly of New Oleans that the good people that live there must live with on a daily basis not to mention support. My property taxes have tripled in ten years because the majority of the city doesn't or can't pay them. I tell people that I live in a third world country and they think I'm joking, now they know.
A good friends cousin took his boat in to help get people from the rooftops. The first one he pulled up to beat the crap out of him and took his boat leaving him on the roof. Nice "locals" huh?
Not to wish bad to other places but the best thing that could happen to New Orleans is if the majority of the people that were bussed out didn't return. Sorry to say..
The Black caucus got on tv and said why don't we have cruise ships for housing? they have resaurants and pools for the kids! I was just told that the Jackson, MS paper said that cruise ships are going to do just that. Pay attention to those ships. They'll have to be sank or burned when they get through with them. Welcome to my world.......
