Have to concur with you Pat. Like the rest you I too have been pouring over news reports of this tragedy for days.

12 hours ago the city of Corpus Christi also became a refugee center. I was at first put out by the lack of forward thinking that the city did in planning for some 3000 people on their way here to be put up in a building not suitable to hold 5.

I got up this morning and drove down to help if needed and to my disbelief was truly amazed at what had been created over night.

I still don't think the building is a long term shelter ( either do city officials) but it will do.

At noon the first bus pulled in amidst hundreds of city workers still trying to build the shelter...not to worry.

The look of these people ( OUR PEOPLE ) was heart wrenching.

I'm telling you...my whole thought process changed immediately. Watching the events unfold on TV does not do justice to reality when you are standing next to a homeless displaced human being with absolutely nothing ....

I am truly blessed with my family and friends and the good fortune we have.

I would never have been a donor of anything had I not witnessed this tragedy.

Please do what you can to support these people in anyway you can.
