Absolutly! Ditch 'em... Go with "Full Flow" ball valves. The full flow allows an unrestricted flow through what ever size through hull fittitng is installed. e.g. A 2" thrugh hull, fitted with a standard 2" ball valve, is restricted to almost 1 1/2" at the valve. A full flow would give you a full 2".
