While it's just heartbreaking to see this, we should keep a little perspective.

Two months ago, a small and hearty bunch of us were there at the Venice Marina and Port Eades.....braving the elements to do what we love to do. That being.......to enjoy our special brand of fellowship. Yes, it was cool going someplace where 'you can't get there from here', and the fishing was great, but the important thing was the people. Getting back together with old friends and meeting new ones was really what was behind the UVI.

Mother nature is the unstoppable force, but Port Eades wasn't the unmovable object. The unmovable object is.....quite simply....our common bond. And while it may take us a little while to regroup from this tragedy, I have no doubt that we will.

So sometime this weekend while we morn the loss of those who are gone, and wait for news of our friends in Biloxi and Gulfport......lift your glass and drink a toast.....to us.
