I won't disagree with the shape of all Florida distribution systems, but it is more a result of the government pushing deregulation about 8 years ago. The incentive was to limit power into each companys territory and generate from within, limiting compitition. I will also agree that the CEO C---suckers will do anything to shore up the stock, but really only to pad there own pockets. I will disagree with the idea that nuclear plants are the way to go, not because I'm liberal, but because I don't think there cheaper. I have worked in 3 different nuclear plants, have seen and worked the endless procedural B.S. it takes to install 10' of conduit, and can tell you, the actual cost of nuclear power isn't shown on there bussbar cost analysis projections people see. Did you know that every fuel rod ever used a Crystal River unit #3 is still on site, nowhere to sent it! Progress Energy is now working toward permitting a new nuclear plant you will be happy to hear, but I, and most people that are employeed by Progress Energy are sick about it. Based on fuel cost they are a no-brainer, but if they had to stand alone on there real costs, a very BAD DEAL.
