I guess Bertram made a few different style struts for our boats. I say this because there would be no way I would ever consider opening up my struts that much, just not enough meat around the bearing and the base is too thin in my opinion for 1-1/2" shafts. Think you would wind up with the self aligning struts found on Silvertons.
