You were definitely in the majority of people who had slow pickings this weekend. The best catch I have heard of so far was 4 albacore and that was on a 2 night 3 day trip. Seems like the Armada was out there and the tuna knew it. I bet this weekend will be even more crowded if the weather clears up.

But, it is still early, some of our best trips have been in September. I can remember one trip about 4 years ago when we left the dock at 5am, were back by 1pm and had 17 yellowfin in the boat -- all on the chunck -- we could have taken more but had no place to put them as the fishbags were full.

Did you try the squid for bait? I am going to bring some with me the next time I go.
