One engine broken

Long story short, Barbara & I moved down from LI to the Outer Banks of NC August of '04. Boat went up on the hard in June, taken down and put behind my friends house in March '05. When they finally built our dock it was put behind the house in May. There it sat for 3 months while we moved in and worked on putting the new house together. Couple of trips out the inlet, running fine. Went to use it about 2 weeks ago, low RPM, hard to get on plane - thought I had bad gas. Turns out from lack of use had oysters growing on the running gear. Trip to boat yard, cleaned, repainted and back in the water. The problem is this, I can run it out the inlet, start trolling the beach, after about 20 minutes of trolling the port engine hisses and dies. Engine temp good. Will not relight. Each engine has two fuel filters from the days when it had a belly tank. Mechanic, who has no time to come and look at the boat will work with me. He had me remove on of the fuel filters and replumb, sighting a vapor lock problem. Took the boat out today, same problem exists. By the time I get back to the dock I can relight the engine to dock. Fuel filters are clean, no water - no debris. I don't have a clue. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
