It ain't looking too good for the home team. I just got back from all day in Venice tying up the "Suzie's Pissed" and she really is. If any boat survives at Venice Marina, she will. However, Buras, about 15 miles north, is currently holding the highest probability for all locations listed by NOAA at 27%. If the eye does go to Buras as a Cat 4, much less a Cat 5, the only Venice left will be in Italy.
This damn thing snuck up on us so quick, and with all that variability in the forecast, I would not have known whether to go east or west if we had tried to get her out. About a third of the boats left today, but several are still there. Jeff and a guy named Josh on his 38' blowboat are planning on riding out the storm at the marina. It's gonna be one hell of a Monday for them.
