Mike;
Not sure where, we go to the Hudson, Toms, Cartaret, Lindenkohl, etc. I'm going this weekend on a buddies boat (53' Viking!) and I just put together a list of what I need to bring (he has nothing). Here it is;
ƒï Egg Sinkers ¡V various
ĕ Flat line clips
ĕ Fishing Belts
ƒï Gaffs ¡V Flying and Regular
ĕ Fishing Pliers
ĕ Lures
ĕ Teasers
ĕ Fish Bag(s)
ĕ Bally Ho
ĕ Gloves
ĕ Rigging Wire (for Bally Ho)
ĕ Fishing Rods, obviously
ĕ Knives, chunking and regular
ĕ Squid Net
ĕ Rain Gear
ĕ Boots
ĕ Charts
ĕ Crimpers and Crimp Kit, includes beads, crimps, etc.
ƒï Birds ¡V attach to lures
ĕ Tail Rope
ĕ Garbage Bags
ĕ Bucket of Chum
ƒï 5 flats butterfish ¡V 4 in chunks, one for bait
ĕ 1 flat sardines
ĕ Squid
ĕ Rags
ĕ Suntan lotion
ĕ Hat
ĕ Sunglasses
ĕ Cooler Pads
ĕ Tackle box with hooks, swivels, rings, etc
ĕ Cyalume sticks
ĕ Spotlight
ĕ Knife Sharpener
ĕ Scrub Brush
ĕ Canyon Products Stretch n Stores
ƒï Pot Line ¡V to tie off to a lobster pot. Be careful, don¡¦t lasso the high flyer like a cowboy, lift the flyer and run through loop in the line underneath, tying both sides to your bow cleat. Watch out for the landlord, he¡¦s the one with all the lights. If you see him coming, untie one end and let the line drift thru the loop.
ƒï Chum Ladles ¡V trying throwing that crap with your hands one night, you only forget this once!
ƒï Flourocarbon leader, 40 ¡V 80lbs
ĕ Mono leader material for luresĕ Fish Bat, for when the mate accidentally gaffs the side of your boat.
ĕ First Aid Kit
ĕ EPIRB
ĕ Raft
ĕ Ice Pick
ĕ Ice
ĕ Cooler(s)
ĕ ToolsIf you will be in our area, I will be out there somewhere. Call the Laura D on 71.
Good Luck!
