Need Your Noggins - Yanmar

I have 6PLA-STPs in my '62 B31, 300 hrs, no problems to date. During the past few runs, I have hit some boat wake and the starboard engine RPMs drop down 1000 rpm or shuts down all together. When it drops 1000 rpm, it usually returns to running RPM, but sometimes stalls. I can typically re-start the engine after it dies, but again, sometimes not.

A few other notes:
- the drop in rpms occurs at all rpms, from 3100 down to 1200
- the drop occurs only when I hit a large boat wake (e.g. the boat gets jarred)
- I have disassembled and inspected everything from the secondary fuel filter back to and including the fuel pick up. A little bit of water in the pick up-to-fuel filter line, but nothing else.
- When the engine runs, all guages and performnace numbers are consistent with historical norms
- No issues with the Port engine

Any thoughts?

Bill
