Jeff,

Sit down and spend some time composing your tale, start to finish... Draft it down, polish it up and send it to your Governor, your state Attorney General, your state Representative, and the Director of the DNR. Be sure to add the appropriate “CC to:” so that they all know who is getting a copy. Include photos of your boat, before and after.

Remind them all that you are:

A. A tax paying citizen of their state
B. A registered voter in their state
C. An honest & productive wage earner in their state
D. Whatever else that you contribute to your state and their salaries and elected positions...

Don't use threats or animosity. Remain calm, rational, and factual.

If you don't get results from that approach, take your fight to the media, especially any TV station that has a consumer advocate. Write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper.

If you can't win the fight starting at the bottom of the chain of command, go straight to the top. Become an issue that they WANT to resolve...
