I am curious about this, my questions are with efficiency. How can one 210 hp diesel put out the same power as v8 diesels after it looses energy converting its rotational energy to electricity and then has to convert that electricy back to rotational enery? There has to be losses at each conversion which should reduce overall efficiency requiring a much larger main engine.
