Jeff, just registered my B20 in MD, it came from NJ where they had issued a # for it NJXXXX or something like that.

Anyway, what do you have to prove that it's yours? a bill of sale, old registration from previous owner? You should be able to work something out as long as you can prove ownership.

MD expects a boat to have a serial number with letters and numbers & if you can prove ownership, they'll assign you a number#. They told my wife to attach the NJ nuber to the boat.

We've had decent luck with the office in Annoplis next to the Naval Academy stadium.
