Dave,

It is not necessary to unbolt the pilasters near the engine boxes. Remove all screws, nuts and bolts from the windshield. Remove the pilaster panels. Use a stack of 4x4s to bridge the opening into the V-berth & use a bottle jack to lift the house top. You can see that I lifted Jim's house by about 6" without undue stress to the pilasters.
