Al, like you, I was leery of the Algae X until I did some research on the magnitics. It is actually old tech. and has been used in hot water systems for 100 years. I did this before I plunked down my money and put them on AJ. I keep very close records on fuel use, and can see the smoke. After about 50 hours of the A-X, my fuel consumption went down about 10-15%, and most of my smoke went away. And the fuel numbers are repeatable. From Venice to my camp used to take about 110 gallons. Now it takes 83-85, and that's 4 round trips, so 8 fill ups, and that's hard to argue with. I did switch to the S&B air filters, and they did some good, plus did the Dawn/distilled water turbo wash, and that is a big help too. Lots of little tricks with the diesels.
