Fuel Tank Flushing

OK, down to the tank today ...and opened up tank plate and found 100+ gallons of diesel (or sludge) still in the tank. No telling how long the crap has been sitting in the tank. We have an environmental company in town that can suck out the fuel. But, what if there is still alot of sludge. Should I go ahead and gut the old tank out also during the rebuild. I already have a new 130g tank made forward of the engines. Thanks in advance.
