John they sell waterproof plastic boxes for those car /marine radios. They work quite well and are not that expensive. I keep a marine unit (Kenwood) up on the bridge in the electronics box. 4 1/ 2 years now and still working. Not much good when your cruising . You can hear it but engine noise is a little too much for me but I have a hearing problem. I just use my Sony walkman on long trips it works great. I pick up FM stations 100 miles away on the water.
