Marine "in-dash" AM/FM/CD *LINK*

My local West Marine had a (discontinued)Jensen MCD5110 CD player w/ two speakers on clearance for $129. It seemed like a good deal so I picked it up, but now I'm wondering; is there anything really special about a "marine" CD player? They're all 12 volt, maybe the marine units just come in white? Since a black unit and speakers would blend w/ my interior better maybe I'd be better to just get a car stereo at Best Buy to replace the Kraco (K-Mart) unit currently installed in my B28.
