I've been re-doing my b25 which had fuel problems before I got it. the previous owner had stopped using the starboard tank and was only running on the port. I was told that he was getting frustrated about being towed in and donated the boat to charity and I bought it.

One of the first things I did was remove both tanks and remove the bronze fill and pickup fittings and cleaned the tanks out. In both tanks I had removed handfulls of dirt and what looked to be flakes of dried up and varnished fuel. I've since cleaned them up pretty good and have checked them out by flashlight and mirrors and the interior surface is in good condition and there doesn't seem to be any more flakes of material that could fall off. Nothing in the tanks seems to be of a black gooey sludge. I've put the tanks back together and have bought all new fuel lines.

I haven't filled the tanks yet so I don't know the outcome...
