In Response To: B26 Outboard Question (Steve)

David Pasco wrote a great writeup on the B26 with outboards.

The B26 II is a factory conversion from the stern drive hull. Bertram custom cut the transom and built by hand the engine wells. It was labor intensive and expensive. This is why there are so few B26 II's out there. I learned this from Lee Dana and Richard Kidd. There is wood in the transom and in the stringers. My 1977 model had some water in them, but very little rot and we were able to dry it out and repair. Get a survey and think about repowering with newer 4 cycle outboards. I think they are great boats.

I also have some factory information on:

Best of luck!
