carl...i've seen the black goo....it is unbelievable........guy in the shop behind mine (B25 4cylinder i/os ) pulled his heads and the stuff is impenetrable and no solvent will work either......no one has come up with a truly diffinative answer, other than in order to supplement the incomes of iowa corn farmers the northeast has to endure this blight. BTW..not limited to boats...took the fuel filter off my 56 austin healey....not pretty...and it has a steel tank......randall
