John,
Brian's correct for visual inspection of hull bottom. Every square inch of the boat needs to be sounded out with a small phonelic mallet, (a job for a qualified marine surveyor).
The difference in tone resonance will point out any delaminations. The insurance surveyor may or may not be in your corner, remember that the insurance company pays his sallary and they'll be looking to get out as light as possible. Spend the bucks and get your own surveyor in case there is any contention...
Fiberglass is quite resilient and excepting point contact crushing done by the lift, (e.g. tower leg & brace footings), most all other damage should be restricted to cosmetic gelcoat or paint cracking.
