The Good, The Bad and Block Island

The Good, we’re expecting our first child, The bad...I can’t make it to Block Island. Unfortunately when I made the commitment to Dug to take on rendezvous responsibilities the birth date was out a couple more weeks, but we received confirmation a couple days ago that the baby could arrive at any time, and since there is not a formal medical facility on the island, the doctor advised it best not to take any chances, like I actually have any say in the matter...:~).

Some of you already know this information, but I wanted to let everyone know that logistically it changes nothing. I’m visiting with Dug later this week to give him all the “goods”, raffle items, rendezvous tees and dinner monies. I feel very badly that I will be unable to attend as I have truly enjoyed working on everything and preparing for the rendezvous. At the same time, we're very excited about our little guy’s arrival and you can be sure he'll be there with us next year.

The Dinner:
The dinner is at Ballards, obviously, and I currently have as paid attendance:

3. Dug Stowe 2 people
4. Tom Ward 4 people
5. Andre’ Fourrier 4 people
6. Gary Spivack 3 people
7. William Beardslee 1 person

We have a total of 16 people signed up for the dinner, I know there are more coming, with over 20 boats that will be there, so please sign up so I can give Dug the check for the dinner. If only 16 people show up, then everyone will go home with a raffle bag filled with shirts, lures, electronics and other great stuff.

The Rendezvous Shirts:
If you’re attending the rendezvous and you want a shirt, send me an e-mail with the number of shirts, sizes and send me a check for the shirts (I trust you all). I’ll give the shirts to Dug to hand out, but he is not going to be collecting any money (he’s suppose to be a spectator this year). So if you want one please tell me now. If you’re not going to go to the rendezvous, please send me a check with the $5.00 dollars for shipping, sizes and number and I’ll get them out asap. Remember, every shirt sold will be a donation of $5.00 dollars to Capt. Pat.

Room Available:
Also, I have a room deposit at a B&B next to Champlins (a single queen size bed), walking distance, to the marina. If nobody wants it I need to cancel it, but if you want it it’s yours. The deposit is paid; you just need to pay for the room, half the price of Champlin’s rooms. Please let me know today if possible as I need to call and let them know we need to cancel based on the doctor's advice yesterday.

Again, I’m sorry I’m not going to be there, more so that I won’t be able to meet everyone...bitter sweet I guess, but the show must go on. And lastly, I need people to take many pictures so I can get them up on the site.
