I can understand your misery right now. I also have the Can Do It on a lift and know how this can happen. Yes limit switches would come in handy. When you get your lift repaired have them installed. Home owners should take care of the lift mistake and boat insurance should take care of the boat. Talk to Andre for advice there. When I first got the lift for this boat I wasn't familiar with how it sat etc and had it up I thought far enough. Wife called me for supper and while we were drinking our coffee wife says "I think your boat is drifting down the canal loose!" Well I got lucky as it hit the next door neighbor's dock and no damage to anything. Lifts have very good points and very bad points. My old 25 B fell off my friends lift as we were raising it the aft cables broke . It was davits in those years. No damage to the hull or anything. Fiberglass can be fixed. Engines can be re aligned.Hang in there . Just another bump in life's journey Dave K
