John, I've got about 150hrs on them and so far am pleased, only mechanical problem has been a knock sensor alarm (Smartcraft) took 'em off, cleaned and retorqued per specs and it went away, go figure. Fuel is killing me of course, same burn as the 454s but 2-4kts faster. Was 40k cheaper and that's a lotta fuel and don't have the wife diesel aversion discussion evey time to deal with. As far as the ingestion issues, that seemed to be in those express rigs where the risers aren't above the water line and it looks Merc did a fair amount of engineering, I've got SS risers and ceramic coated aluminum manifolds suppossedly as a result.
