Walter,
Yep, I'm saying just that. The down side... The 210 HP models (per side) are supercharged and fuel injected. The amount of wiring on these is substantial and there is a supercharge whine between 2600 and 3500 RPM. This is not an issue for me because 3500 is about 15 knots for me and where I consider the low side of cruise, anything lower then that I'm pushing water and not planing. My operating range is 750RPM thru 5000RPM. I'm not proped correctly because I should be able to hit 6400 RPM where the 210HP is. I'm still working on that.
I have some pictures of Gary's boat when RPM installed his 175 HP carb model. Dirt simple and Gary seems to be very happy, as are the other carb model owners I talked to. The extra HP and weight savings comes at a premium. Rotary engines are more expensive then the 3.0L, but I bet cheaper then V6's that start at 180HP.
By the way, Marine Solutions that Bob Lico spoke of is a reseller of RPM's engines and shares the same facility in Glen Cove on Long Island. It's really worth taking a look at.
I'll send you the pictures.
