The #1 cure I've seen over the years comes from fixing high frequency noises produced onboard and transmitting through & into the water. Culprits range from lose belts, bad bearings, too hard of rubber in less expensive cutlass bearings, too sharp an edge on wheels, & even the wrong tunes played on the stereo. High pitched femal vocalists or screeching violins don't raise fish, Johnny Cash will will bring them to the transom...

Roach out your boat with a stethyscope and kill any sound that's higher pitched than baratone.
