454 Intake Manifold Torque Specs

Yesterday while replacing an intake manifold on Shambala's starboard Mercruiser 454, I used a torque wrench to torque the intake manifold bolts to 30 lbs of torque. I was told after the fact that the Chilton's specs call for 24 lbs of torque.

My question is this: Do I leave it or do I back the bolts off to 24 lbs?
