Mine was done with Awlgrip over 20 years ago by the prior owner. Unfortunely, it is still holding up well enough that I let a new paint job slide by year after year. I say unfortunately as the job has many Holidays and the color, not my first choice, actually not the second third or forth either.

As to preference, I would go with whatever the people feel they can do best and fits the budget.
