Thanks for info guys. It is always re-assuring to hear all the specs and information based on the experience of others. I ran the boat around the harbor today. That was my first time ever running a Bertram 28! It felt pretty good despite having yet still work to do. The stbd motor(new carb) is responsive and feels like she will definitley have power. The other motor just chokes and pops throught the carb and then stalls if you bump the hammer. Tommorrow I am going to start messing with the two screws at the bottom of the carbs and get my idle right. I have never done this before and it is time I learn through trial and error. I might see if I can pick up another rebuilt carb for the motor with no oomf. Oh yeah, going to set back the timing too before I leave the harbor. Five months of labor in the boat yard is wearing thin and I can not fathom the thought of melted pistons. Just knowing I have to pull the manifolds to fix ticking from the exhaust is bad enough. I already tried tightning the bolts but no luck. Any carb or exhaust leak solutions are appreciated too! Thanks again guys.
