Mike, I don't know about the extra cost, but the Rupp Tournement style mounts for outriggers is top notch, I can raise and lower my riggers for the bridge eaisly by my self. As for spreaders, I have read that some guys don't like the extra stiffness they provide, but I have had them with and without, and like the double spreaders I have now much more than my old bare riggers.
