Used Tefgel on the threads. The alignment is 0-0-0-.0015 So that's not the problem. I used a pipe as a torque amp last time and broke a bolt so I just used an open end wrench with a little torque but apparently not enough. I have the MG-502 transmissions by Twin Disc . I'll check the book and call the shaft shop . They should know. Got anchor line wrapped around the prop. Yep that useless power winch failed and unable to put the brake on as it was jammed in the gypsy agin. Turns out in the middle of the night it unjammed and you guessed it no brake but luckily calm seas and I just got up to make a nature call and seen it. I ran 290 miles , not a drop of oil used and had plenty of diesel to spare. Parts on the Green ones are high but they sure do run supurb.Put new cams and impellers in and big difference . Using 90 degree water for intake cooling here (86 degrees offshore)they run at 170 degrees.
If it wasn't for this board I would have not known about the technique of running it foward at a quick throttle up to move it back in. Worked great! Dave K
