I also went through this exercise last year with my B28. I peeled the lining material off the sides of the hull and then sanded it all down, followed with a sealer. I then had my canvas guy bond a layer of foam to some hull lining material and rebond this to the hull and the anchor locker. This has made it much more comfortable and allows me to locate the leaks in the deck under the railing as it drips down. I have teak deck caps under the railing which we removed to seal all of the leaks last month. Looks nice now that it has been refinished and sealed. The deck under the rail cap looked like swiss cheese, from all of the screw holes.
