Repower - some food for thought

I stopped by the marina this morning to pick up a hose barb fitting for my ac pickup & in the shop they had a Commins recon 370 B series motor. Looked just like a new one, high quality paint & none on the hoses.

After a few minutes conversation I found the cost was just a shade over 10k & would come in around 16 to 17k with gear, gauges & accessories. I've got a B35 so this would be the motor of choice. I'd imagine the 250-330hp would be a little less.

Not too shabby considering Crusader's advertised price of just under 12k.

Now of course when converting you've got all the other costs but hey beter than 30k per-motor I was quoted 4 years ago!
