Aluminum parts protection

All,
I just received my two new drive shaft adapters and they are way too pretty to paint. They will reside inside a "bell housing" of sorts so keeping them pretty is not a big deal because no one will see them anyway. Sooo,They are made of 7075 Aluminum and are fresh out of the machine shop. They have threads for accepting the coupler. These are 7" long stern drive shafts so they won't be in the salt water, but will be in the damp engine compartment. I'm thinking of just spraying them down with heavy duty CX so they will stay pretty and keep the aluminum lustur. Tef-Gel is a must on the bolts.
What do you guys think?
