Told me his B31 is For Sale

I was just about to leave my mooring in Nantucket MA. when fellow passing by in a power boat stopped to ask me a question. It turned out that he and/or his son were prior owners of my boat. We had a nice gam...(That's Nantucketese for a chat), and during the course of it he mentioned that he had a B31 Diesel that might be for sale. I've seen over the past couple of months the curved windshield of such a boat peeking from behind the trees in a particular yard, so I asked him if that were the one. It is.
So here is what I know: It is a B-31 old enough to have the curved windshield, It is Diesel, It might be for sale if someone were to ask nicely. The owner is an old Bertram fellow from way back, but didn't seem to know about this site, and didn't seem to get excited when I told him to try posting here. The boat is on Nantucket Island, off Cape Cod MA. and may need to be moved by truck and ferry boat to a new location if someone were to buy it, but then again maybe it will go on it's own bottom.
When I got my boat, which had been briefly through one additional owner between us, most of the mechanicals were in good serviceable shape, but old, and the cosmetics were in fair to good original condition. I think it is likely that that is the case with the 31 too.
I'm not a broker, I don't want a commission. I also don't want to bug this guy with "Tire Kickers and Lookie Lou's." I'd just like to see a happy ending for everyone.
I know that all of you at this site will respect that a fellow Bertram owner parting with his 31 often isn't as simple as sticking a FOR SALE sign on the windshield and taking the higest bid. If someone here is seriously interested I'll ask him if he'd like to speak to you.
