Vic,

For what it is worth, I just thought of another way we get them out when there isn't room for a drill. Take a hacksaw blade and hold with a pair of vice grips. Make three or four cuts in the inside of fitting being careful not to go into the manifold and then break fitting out with small chisel or screw driver. The fitting cuts fairly easy with the hacksaw blade.
