Vic,
That fitting is some kind of cheap white metal that corrodes itself into the aluminum intake manifold. It is almost impossible to get it out with an easy-out. We usually drill and retap it. They break all the time. Not sure what size drill and tap we use because I'm not at the shop. Could probably find out tomorrow if you need.
Also put grease on the drill bit and tap to minimize shavings going back into cooling system.
