Capt. Pat - Even I already figured that one out.
As I was explaining to the disbelieving machine shop guy, you hold the blade, and unscrew the shaft. Its just a question of working the set screw on the bearing, the packing nut, and machining a slot for a big ol' screw driver on the top of the rudder shaft. Slide the shaft up past the threads, and the rudder drops free. As an upgrade, one could even machine a fitting on the top of the rudder shaft for a wrench. Simple as falling off a log.
