I cannot speak of the early model years, but I have never heard of any issues as mentioned before. I have the B26 which is supposed to be almost identical in layup and construction design as the B28. It's been called the "little sister" of the B28. I can tell you that the surveyor stood back and shook his head when looked under the hatches and said "they sure did use heavy tabbing". I think these boats are more then well made and Lee Dana is well respected in the boating field. He sent me some of the original documentation that I needed before I got started with my repower and was more then helpful. Here is a picture of my B26 sitting beside a B28.
