Steve: I have the ZF220's on my Cat 3208T's. Both of my dipsticks are reachable from the inboard side of each engine - really easy. I don't know if Cat did this, or the builder (North Coast / Phoenix) or if its an available aftermarket thing. The dipstick tube is screwed into the tranny on the outboard side - but the tube and stick are longer and they bend accross the top of the tranny, making it easy to reach inboard of the engine (its the only thing in my entire engine room that's easy to reach). You might call a zf dealer and or Cummins to see if you can get one - will be a pin in the A$$ to install, but once its done, it will solve your problem forever.
