I had 225 HP engines on my B25 inboard until I repowered this past year. I ran 4-blade 15 x 17 props with a no. 3 cup. Fuel burn with a heavy load (including 200 gallons of fuel and 4 people) was about 17 gallons per hour at cruise (3000 rpm). However, with the new 315 HP engines and the same props, I burn only 14 gallons per hour at cruise (2850 rpm). I had a similar 3 gph reduction in fuel consumption at trolling speed. The added torque at the lower speed range really made a difference with the bigger engines. Hope this is helpful.
