Andre,
You'll have a real tight window and will be betting a bunch on the storm path, but it might be do-able...
Destin Marine Weather shows:
FRIDAY
NORTHWEST WIND 5 TO 10 KNOTS. SEAS 2 TO 3 FEET. PROTECTED
WATERS A LIGHT CHOP. A CHANCE OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS.SATURDAY
NORTHEAST WIND 10 TO 15 KNOTS. SEAS 2 TO 4 FEET.
PROTECTED WATERS A LIGHT TO MODERATE CHOP. A CHANCE OF SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS.Should be about the same for down through Venice, FL., But you need to be covering some mean miles on Friday and Saturday. Leave N.O. before dawn, top off fuel in Destin, run on to Bay Point YC, & overnight.
Leave BP before dawn & make Clearwater on Saturday. Leave Clearwater before dawn to Charlotte harbor & around to Ft. Meyers by Sunday afternoon if the seas & wind permit. Otherwise wait it out in Clearwater.
Clearwater to N. Palm Beach is two hard days, NPB to Lauderdale is between 3 & 6 hrs depending on sea conditions.
Everything will be dependant on H Dennis staying well to the west of FL...
If your captain isn't familiar with Bay Point, have him give me a call, easy cut, but a bit tricky.
Good luck!
Best regards,
Patrick
