Ahh, Capt. Patrick, you brought back some memories. I always remember that song going hand in hand with Haggard's Okie from Muskogee.

UV, I also have fond memories of the Marriott Grand in Point Clear. We had a big conference there in the early 90s and my wife joined me mid-week. We got to be friends with the AV guy at the Grand and drinking beers one night he told us that just prior to our conference Martha Stewart had spoken at some women's function. A great storyteller, he had us rolling when described the sea of Southern belles' hats in attendence.

I happened to have another conference there a couple of years later, so I cleaned out the craft store before I left and brought all the makings of a Southern belle hat to present to him. Man, I adorned that hat with pink flamingos, a dozen litte hula dancers, and crowned it with a fake bird in a nest. It was quite the hit when we bar hopped that night.
