From what I remember about Grady Sails when I looked years ago...
The older 25s had transom mounted outboards and the older-design hull that pounded more. Biggest problem with older Gradys was transom rot. Alot of older Gradys have this problem--be careful. Also, if you look around below decks, you'll find more exposed plywood than you'd expect.
Grady redesigned all their hulls (I think they used Ray Hunt, Inc.) to something called a SeaVee2 design that's supposed to ride alot better, and they integrated the transoms. I know a guy that just took delivery on an '05 Sail with 4-strokes--he loves it.
Grady Sails have a 9'6" beam which isn't legal to trailer without special permits. The Grady Islander is a slightly smaller walkaround that has an 8'6" beam so it can be trailered most anywhere without special permits.
If you're looking new or pretty new, Pursuit makes some nice walks also. Grady and Puruit are nice boats--real nice--but neither is a Bertram. Hope this helps.
Good luck--
John F.
